Awesome little tunnel about half way that makes for a perfect break, feels like outdoor AC on hot summer days
I can't say it is a hike cause realistically it is just a long walk but it was an amazing walk and I want to go back before winter begins. The path is well maintained.
Very cool little spot. Lots of history to the old mining days. A real highlight on our trip was a clear blast of cold air from the mine (which is sealed off) that was 40+ feet away while hiking. One of my favorite hiking spots in Western CT. River views but bring bug spray.
Beautiful, peaceful hike with a few trails for various levels of difficulty. Great to take your dogs. Also fun to stop along the way and learn about the history of the mines that were once there.
A nice place to go hiking. As you hike you get to learn and see history of where you are. Great place for those history buff/hikers. A place where I will go back over and over with many trails. And still be amazed every time at what I see and learn. A must got
